After being expelled from their labor union, Chicago police officers Shawn Hallinan and Wayne Haraj sued the union and its parent organization for violations of their First and Fourteenth Amendment rights. The district court found that the plaintiffs had failed to plead the state action necessary to maintain an action pursuant to § 1983 and, consequently, the court granted the unions motion to dismiss. We affirm.
